GRL Industries is looking for an experienced Financial Controller with responsibility for all aspects of financial control and business accounting, including financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and other business finance functions. We need a professional with inherent leadership qualities and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas.

The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and has controllership and accounting responsibility for our affiliated sales and marketing company, GRL Industries, LLC.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in a controllership or accounting role in a commercial enterprise. Additionally, in this role you will collaborate with the executive team to determine effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues and growth financing.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule
  • Manage business finance functions, including invoicing, receivables, vendor payments, payroll, inventory, and commercial banking relationships
  • Create annual budget and periodic forecast updates
  • Manage the General Ledger and conduct regular ledger maintenance. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting
  • Develop and document business and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Work with the CEO to evaluate and implement financial management systems to support growth and address increasing complexity
  • Reconcile balance sheets and deliver summary reconciliation reports
  • Ensure that all payroll activities are compliant with payroll laws and tax requirements
  • Manage all activities related to local, state, and federal tax compliance
  • Manage all inter-company transactions

Required Qualifications:

  • English and Mandarin Chinese language skills – spoken and written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of overall combined controllership, accounting (managerial or tax), or business finance experience
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro accounting software
  • Experience creating financial statements, managing general ledger functions
  • Experience in period-end and year-end financial closing
  • Strong understanding of tax codes and laws
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to function well in a dynamic start-up environment, highly flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid CPA or CMA status
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • Experience in ERP system implementation  
  • Experience working in a multi-national commercial enterprise

Business Services Specialist
GRL Industries, LLC

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain customer relationships, creating a positive customer experience. Provide day-to-day support for distributors and direct customers
  • Frequent communication of status and progress of customer requests
  • Identify and resolve customer issues promptly and accurately
  • Manage the end-to-end order fulfillment process, including order acceptance, production orders place with the factory, factory-to-customer logistics, and delivery confirmation
  • Track and report inventories; 3rd party warehouses and consignments
  • Key user of the construction projects database (ConstructConnect Insight). Generate specification reports and project leads for the sales team
  • Manage the “contact us” process; toll-free calls, web inquiries
  • Coordinate sample and literature fulfillment and replenishment
  • Maintain official business records; contracts, price lists, policy documents

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer service, supply chain, or business services role. Ability to understand and respond to external and internal customer needs and issues
  • Able to work within a start-up environment, highly flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and tasks
  • Experience working in QuickBooks to execute business processes
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills. Use of professional language in verbal and written communication
